Biography

Rafael Castilla is director of investment risk management with the University of Michigan’s Investment Office. He has held legal and business positions with JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Merrill Lynch & Co., was a principal with a private equity firm investing in the CIS, and worked as an attorney with Baker & McKenzie. He received an AB in applied mathematics from Harvard College in 1989, and a JD from Yale Law School in 1992. He is a CFA charterholder and has extensive experience in the investment industry and the financial markets.
